DJ was a lot of fun...the henna tattoo girl was kinda a drag, and the
belly dancer was awesome. We had about 75 for our 'guests', the
neighbors; one expected 60 and got about 20, and the other neighbor
expected 30 and got about 15....We encouraged all of our people to
visit the other parties; and they did, so everyone mingled.
It was one of those parties where everyone wanted to eat, so I was
left with very few leftovers. One of these days, I will remember BEFORE
the party to put some goodies away for just us the next day. Dammit.
My friend Annie hired a snake person to come by and entertain everyone
with his monitor and his python. Turned out to be a hit (yuck) You couldn't look
anywhere without people with a snake around their neck for a while.
The police shut the DJ down at 11:15pm (they come pretty much every year, same
cops) and they had put it off as long as they could (including apologizing for having
to do it..but there ya go...the one neighbor who didn't show was mad? Oh well.
The party went on until 4am.
The after party party was held yesterday.... with various people dropping in
and drinking beer. Then my girlfriend Annie came by and Stephen BBQ'd and
we had leftover pasta salad, and miscellaneous.
No drama to speak of, and we all came out intact!
We have and had beautiful weather...to us a little chilly in the mornings, but
really nice the rest of the day. We leave our display up until after Halloween
for the Trick or treaters, and then will take it down and get back to normal (what
does that really mean?)
