I dare all of you to see how much of a sincere and fun Halloween you can while saving as much money as you can this year. Halloween is in our hearts, not our wallets and purses.

You're right about keeping the spirit all year 'round. I have so much stuff already that I really only buy something I think is unique.

I could've done this. Except I decided to start my Halloween village collection this year! Oh well. Maybe next year.

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly, really I do. But this year I finally get to go to the Ghoultide Gathering (do the happy dance!!

). It's an art show dedicated to Halloween art and artists and I've been trying to get there for 3 years. I intend to spend as much money as I possibly can without going into debt. I've been working 10 & 12 hour days at work on overtime for spending cash. I've already got my hotel room booked and my time requested off. So, maybe next year. (Of course having said this, I'll go and find nothing I like.)

yes true, and we like to get those glow bracelets there to hand out too, the kids seem to love them, and, I have a ton of Halloween decorations and props so I shouldnt need to spend much this year, if we decorate at all, last year I went all out (as best I could in the apt complex) and two kids showed up. I guess people dont decorate here and the kids go other places to TOT.
heres what we did last year for two kids to show up

I can totally underastand that behind each decision is a reason. I was merely suggesting.

thanks, it's hard to see but my animated Jason was in the window with a strobe light on it and the giant spider above the door with glowing eyes.
I just wish more kids had been around here. There are tons of kids here, yelling, screaming, running up and down the sidewalk but on Halloween, none were in sight.

I grabbed a couple of overtime shifts this month to go towards the Halloween fund!
We want to create a little cemetry this year & currently only have two gravestones, so i'll be buying some more of them plus: fencing, moss & lanterns.
There's a few other items we want to add to the decorations we already have. Being in England the best ones are online so i'll be paying to ship it over. It'll be worth it though!

One of the great things about Halloween is you don't have to pay a huge pile of money to have fun. And it's also the time of year that I start pulling down tons of overtime at work, and I have at least 2 Studio O'Brien family portrait shoots, so money might not be a major issue (only a little one) this October.

I love Halloween. It can be expensive to buy candy and decorations, sometimes. But, there are a lot of stores that sell candy at low prices. Halloween is not about candy! It's about all sorts of things.

I usualy start stocking up the Halloween candy around the 2nd weekend of October. In my area it tends to get more expensive as it gets closer to the 'big day.' A lot of people get 'caught short' and they have to go out at the last minute on Halloween itself to get candy, and the stores take advantage of that situation.
