I made this out of boredom...

One cardboard box, white paper, tape, a permanent marker and some high lighter markers, a box cutter or some kind of a knife, a bright LED light like one of those spinning pumpkin lights (they work great)..a little imagination...



And you've got yourself a nice creepy face. I used a cat's of course, you can probably draw a pumpkin, skull, ghost face whatever you want. Here's the image in the day light:

Thanks! I'm not sure what I ended up doing with that box.

I'd like to get more into crafts, though I've also been wanting to work on my stories and art as well.
I might try doing some things with gourds, they seem to be pretty popular.

That cat prop is great! One of the things I love about Halloween is the freedom to use your imagination and make decorations out of inexpensive materials. One of my favorites is the "ghost light" or "spirit light" you can make out of milk jugs. You can't do stuff like this at Christmas, but at Halloween you have an open invitation to be as creative as you can be with whatever is at hand.
