I find myself on the horns of a nasty dilemma. It suddenly occurred to me that at some point I will have to un-decorated my Halloween tree. I'll take the easy way out. I won't decide. Here it comes....there now you will have been bombarded with a poll first thing.

If you like having a Halloween tree, more power to you. I personaly don't go for that. Putting up and decorating a tree is a Christmas TRADITION, and while I love having my tree trimming party in December, I would not care to be putting up a tree and cleaning up after it for two holidays a year.

I'll wait until Christmas to put up a tree, and I'll stick with jack o'lanterns for Halloween. In fact, this year I actualy carved 5 jack o'lanterns. Two sat out on the porch to greet Trick or Treat ers, and 3 adorned my living room and stared blankly at me while I watched "Dark Shadows" videos and old classic horror movies.

Well, the thing is that if we leave Halloween stuff up all year long, and basically celebrate it every day in some small way, it makes the season itself less special. The fact that it only comes once a year is a good thing. Like a wise person once said, "If every day is a sunny day, then what's so special about a sunny day?".
