Sunday was really nice though. We went to a festival and had some of the best Pancakes around.
Was that the maple sugar festival in Highland County? I used to live in Staunton (Augusta County) and went to that one year. I had never seen maple trees being tapped for their sap before.

That's the one! And the Pancakes at the Highland Inn are absolutely amazing.
The general rule was that one weekend would be nice, and it would rain the other weekend. So I've heard anyway. Highland county got hit with snow last Sunday, by the time it got to where I lived it wasn't as bad, but I still panicked.
It really amazes me that you know exactly where I'm talking about. ^^; Such a small world we live in.
I'd seen Maple Trees being tapped before. It's actually fairly common in New York State believe it or not.

They have a maple syruping festival in Pilcher Park in Joliet, Ill. Maple syrup and sugar, and honey are my favorite sweeteners.

Well, I kind of feel like that too--how strange that we know the same places! I lived up there from about 1987-94, if memory serves. I taught English at Mary Baldwin in Staunton during that time. Both my boys were born up there, but my daughter was born here in TN.
I am from Jackson, Mississippi, originally, so maple trees were quite exotic for me.

The real question is: Which one of you is the stalker?

Nothing beats good Maple Candy. I also love those maple flavored Bob Evens breakfast sausages, too.

I think I figured out who the stalker is...
It's Kolchak. I mean, who else would have pulled up in a police car right behind me the other day while I was pulling into Wendy's? LOL
On another note...I'm bummed out now because it's a rainy weekend...if it's nice next weekend when I have to work...I won't be happy...not one bit...

MauEvig, it's pretty chilly and rainy here too, and it's supposed to stay that way all through the weekend, but at least I don't have to shovel the rain, and at least I'm not paying through the nose for heating bills.
I am definitely looking forward to breaking out the motorcycle and the barbecue. In fact, I just might grill up myself a rib eye steak if it stops raining tomorrow for my lunch.
