I agree, playing with the spirit world is playing with fire.

I wouldn't either Mike. If someone ever tried, then i'll tell them either the Ouija Board stays outside or you're not coming in!

My niece really wants to hold a seance in my house, too. It's over 100 years old, so she thinks there may be a ghost haunting it. IT is supposedly haunted according to local legend.
BUT, my answer is allways the same. No way! No how!

I'd like to hold a seance, though I'd be a bit apprehensive.

Be careful not to invite in any evil phantoms.

I have to say that I'd give it a shot. Might be quite an experience.

So, a member of my extended family knows the owners of the Birdcage Theater. A couple years ago, on a trip to Tombstone, we stopped by to chat with them. I asked if they had any interesting ghost stories about the Birdcage Theater and the owner told me that when he first acquired the building he held a seance. It didn't go well. The owner doesn't remember much about the incident except that he had to be taken outside because he nearly died being choked to death. Apparently, everyone at the seance thought he was faking it too... until his face turned blue and he passed out.
So, would I ever participate in a seance? Eh... probably not. There are some things I just don't dabble in as a general rule... and for my own safety.

I've heard of that place on Haunted History, I believe. That is a very scary story.

It's funny how this topic popped up again. My St. Patrick's Party is a week from this comming Saturday. Once again my oldest niece asked if she could hold a seance, and bring a ouija board, and I told her in no uncertain terms. No. No seance, and ESPECIALY no ouija board. I actualy found an ouija board in my attic when I moved in, and I burned it. Some may think I take being Catholic too far, but there's no way I am going to attempt to make any contact with the realm of spirits and risk inviting in an unclean spirit, nor will allow others to do the same. You see, after all the guests go home, I will be alone in that house, and I don't want satan or any of his minions keeping me company.
NO SEANCES AND NO OUIJA BOARDS!

Mike that is a fair policy and you family and friends hopefully respect it. I don't want demons in my house for sure.

They do respect it. My niece who wants to hold the seance is a Wiccan, and does not believe in demons and the like, but she does respect my right to my religious beliefs, but wishes I would change my mind about the seance and the use of an ouija board.
My two older brothers who are agnostic think we're both being rediculous. Her for believing in Wicca and me for believing in the Catholic Faith.

Wow, two Agnostics, a Catholic, and a Wiccan. Sounds like you have a very accepting family. I find that very interesting.

Oh, I think most extended families represent a variety of religious beliefs.
