They eventually get out!

Y'all crack me up! I have 3 kids myself (18, 13, & 11) I would take even the cheap whisky and a early bedtime! I teach middle school, too, so I NEVER have a kid free day!! Sometimes I hope for a small stomach bug so I can stay in the bed all day and everyone will leave me alone.
Sad.

I am Irish. Well, I correct that, my ancestors were Irish.
We just take it as a day to wear green, eat green mashed potatoes, and pinch someone. Just stupid fun to fill those cold, winter, holiday free days until Spring!!

Kiss me I'm Irish!!!

Keats? Did he mean Yeats?

Sorry, I am sooo two pages ago. I read to the bottom of p. 4 and, for some reason, thought I was at the end of the thread. I should have quoted Andy.

Keats was English. I have been to his house near Hampstead Heath, north of London. Yeats, of course, was Irish (although he was Anglo-Irish, which put him into a position somewhat similar to Jonathan Swift's two centuries earlier). I have always thought that Yeats and Swift share a savagely ironic tone toward the Irish, at least at moments. A love/hate thing.
