She's majoring in theater (we have reconciled ourselves to that) and wants to act in Shakespeare. She had auditioned for a Shakespeare festival in Minnesota but wasn't selected (a sort of internship). She's just a sophomore so they told her to try again. Meanwhile she thinks she wants to study in England next year. Her school has some sort of arrangement with London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). So we have a lot of planning & paperwork to sift through.
My older boy studied in Germany as a junior back in 2010, and I was excited for him. I am more apprehensive now. Europe has gotten a lot more dangerous than it was. But I don't want her to feel that she can't explore the world, either. Young people have to do that.
I'm not too sanguine about her career choice, either, but she worked so hard in high school that I think she has the right to choose her own direction. She's academically gifted and could succeed in anything, so it's hard to see her choosing such a precarious path.

Andy I love the picture!! It looks like my family way back when, awww! 
Murf, you did an amazing job with your kids, now you just have to step back and let them fly so to speak, you also need to just be there for them if the trip and stumble, it's amazing how that works. I cried and cried when my oldest bought a house and moved out and then when my youngest went off to college I cried and cried, now I am so proud of both of them, Paul and I are almost empty nesters, I think this will be our last summer with Sam, she is already making plans for next summer after she graduates. Murf you will be in the same boat soon, it's tough at first but it will get easier and you can cry on my shoulder any time, if you want.

So I leave for New York in August for broadway training and I turned 21 back in January (weird considering I was around 11 when I first got on here I think??)

I work Saturday but I'm shockingly off sunday-tuesday so I'm not sure. My boyfriend and I are trying to come up with things to do for memorial day. How about yourself?

My brother and his girlfriend bought a cabin on the coast and have been renovating it for several months.
We're leaving in a couple of hours to go and hang out for the next 2 days.

Been working my asterisk off all weekend but we just got done so I have tonight and tomorrow off.
I found a case of Shipyard Pumpkinhead beer at a local liquor store, got a bunch of scary movies I haven't seen on my media center, still have some friends hanging around from last Halloween. Wonder what I should do tonight?
Not sure if I can keep my eyes open.

I went to New Mexico to see my dad I had the whole week off and it was wonderful, I really didn't want to come back!! We had beautiful weather and went everywhere, to antique shops and car shows, it was so relaxing.

I wish I could vacation somewhere. I wanted to go to Charleston, but my husband tells me some wild tale of a dirty bomb found on a ship there??? He went up to Ohio with our elder son a weekend or two ago. Son is moving there and was scouting for an apartment. Right now, though, son is in Italy. I have to do my traveling vicariously through him.
