I took the kids to school again today, that made me happy.

My kids didn't have school yesterday & today because of the snow, we actually got some this time, 4 inches!!!

I finally finished scrubbing the grout on my kitchen floor! I started this on Tuesday, and probably could've finished it in one day if that was the only thing I had to do. The tiles are 12 x 12" white ceramic with white grout. My kitchen is pretty big, so there was a lot of floor to cover. On Tuesday, I got the urge to clean the grout. It was actually pretty easy -- just a stiff, narrow scrub brush, some hot water, and a little elbow grease. I can't believe how clean it looks -- almost like a brand new floor!

You will never, ever hear me say "I got the urge to clean the grout"...ever.

Believe me, it wasn't my idea -- I never, in a million years, would've chosen this for flooring. This is what the floor was like when we bought the house. Besides the fact that a white floor is so impractical, it's very cold and sterile looking. I'm hoping to eventually change it to a darker, more earthier textured tile or even hardwood, which is my favorite. Even laminate would be better. We have hardwood in the formal living room, dining room and entry foyer. If I had my way, the entire house would be hardwood. We have white wall-to-wall carpet throughout the rest of the house, which I absolutely HATE! It's that builder's grade carpet and I especially can't stand stand that it's on the stairs and right where one of the back doors to the house is. Why they didn't tile that area I have no idea. I always keep that door locked when anyone is outside so they can't come in that door and drag dirt in.
