My 13 year old son is wanting to go as Billy the Exterminator. That should be pretty easy to come up with, but , I live in the south, and he won't look like he is in costume! He is trying to get his little sister to be a cockroach. She's not buying into it.

What ever happened to kids wanting to be a wearwolf, ghost, witch or other Halloween monster? Why does every kid want to be some character they see on tv?

That's where their influences are now...not from books or comics...some still do but the majority see shows on TV and that's what they want to be.

because they have no imagination and can only fathom what they see in a movie for TV......and thats usually whats "cool" to their friends

Mine isn't some cape and mask from a store. I'm gonna search around for the best hillbilly clothes and put a bunch of fake bones in my backpack.

I don't want to give it away just yet, but I can tell you it's made out of paper! My costumes are always homemade and I usually aim for originality over scary. I have for the past few years anyway.
Once I have the costume a little further along, I'll take a pic and post it to show off my handiwork.
