Those candle holders sure came in handy last night during the great blackout of aught eleven.
my wife works for SouthWest Airlines and she said they were swamped with calls because San Diego was blacked out and lots of "WTF?" calls, also parts of Arizona and Mexico was also blacked out.
...did they think it was Southwest's fault? If so, where did they get the brains to use a phone?

they were panicking on how to get back home or where ever they were trying to get to on SW airlines, I guess they thought the phone reps could make the planes fly in a blackout

...and that is why our culture is collapsing.

Those pictures make me happy. That Halloween Spirit down the street from my work still hasn't opened. Last year they opened much sooner than this. I had an hour lunch today and I was gonna go frollic amongst the plastic corpses, but nay. I was denied such a privilege.

Our city is such a flippity floppity place when it comes to Halloween. 2 years ago we had 3 Spirit locations. Last year, just 1. This year we have 2 Spirits (that I've confirmed...) a Halloween City and some other knock off place that mainly sells the slutty dress up clothes. (gag) And would you believe the Halloween City and one of the Spirit stores are across the street from each other! AHHHHH! I saw open signs on Friday so thanks to Castle, I'll be spending my lunch break tomorrow strolling the aisles like a giddy schoolgirl (minus the slutty dress up clothes). Maybe when I'm having a rough day I can sneak out to do some Halloween shopping.....hmmmm...Castle is giving me bad ideas.

On another note, my husband and I hit up every stinkin Wally World in this county over the weekend in search for an un-related item. My Wal Mart had nothing out, the college Wal Mart had the most and the 3 others were a mix in between. I was happy to see one of the Wal Marts going festive with 4 full aisles of decor but it's in the seriously sketch part of town so I'll just be holding out for my own Wal Mart to play catch up.

Those are some cool pics there joossa! :)

Today was pay-day, so we've just ordered a number of Halloween decorations on-line. We'll pick some up once the local supermarket get their stock in aswell. :D

I was in Meijer yesterday, and found some Halloween tee shirts. As for other things, they have zilch.

The local CVS expanded their selection quite a bit.

I was worried there for a while.

I'm sure our Spirit won't be open until the last week of September at the earliest. There's 2 Halloween Adventure stores, both open, one year 'round, but they are mainly a costume store. Spirit is dumb not to open earlier as everyone who's excited about it will probably go there.

I strolled like a schoolgirl as promised. I "ooooooed" and "ahhhhhhhed" more times than I can remember. And surprisingly I only spent $25. Though a portion of that is for my Secret Grim Reaper victim so I can't say what it was for. I was most certainly a happy girl. Was surprised to find that Halloween City is much more affordable than Spirit. And they do have a great selection! Will definitely give them a portion of my paycheck this season.

I am starting to think my kids might not me MY kids......

I took them to the Spirit Halloween down the street here and they didnt even want to get out of the car, not because they would be scared but because they just couldnt give a sh#t. I had to force them in and two of them just sat at the entrance and said they would wait for me and the youngest to finish looking around. So we did. My youngest one was more fun, him and I went through looking at stuff and pushing the "try me" buttons. My other two came walking up to us and I thought they were going to start looking around but all they wanted was to ask if we were ready to go yet.

I did see one thing I thought was pretty cool though, they have a life size "Reagan" from the Exorcist that spins it head, eyes light up (stupid since the real scary is in her eyes in the movie) and she says different lines from the movies....pretty cool but theres no way the wife would allow it in the house, I cant even buy that DVD.... :(

I'd rather have a Ronald Reagan that did that.
