You know, Spaceballs wasn't funny to me 
Young Frankenstein and Silent Movie are near the top of my favorite movies list, but I just didn't get Mel Brooks take on Star wars.
Has anyone seen Hardware Wars? It came out right after Star Wars. Love that one.

This is purely anecdotal, mind, but I never seem to find Star Wars nuts, the ones who are really into it, and know all the names of the characters (like the red guys who guard Jabba the Hut), who think Spaceballs is as hilarious as I think it is. I have no idea why that might be, but it seems to be the case. Personally, I'd rather watch Spaceballs than Star Wars any day.

Spaceballs was hilarious to me...most anything Mel Brooks did was hilarious to me. I enjoyed the spoof and took it for what it was...and it made me laugh.

oh yeah, I'm a SW geek but, while I have been buying star wars figures for my collection lately, I am but a mini geek, there are tons of uber geeks out there that can tell you the name of characters in the movies that you only see for 5sec in the background and also tell you everything that happened between the movies (because they have read every book out there).
