They're opening a Walgreens in my town about two minutes from where I live, so next year I'll hit them up.
For Halloween stuff.
Not hold them up. For drugs.
Just wanted to be perfectly clear.
*coughs*

Costco is like Sams...sell in bulk and has lots of 'stuff'' Not affiliated with Sams or Walmart though.

Doesn't COSTCO stand for Chinese Over Seas Trading COmpany? I hear about it all the time, but I don't like buying from them because I assume I'm benefiting the Chinese economy when I do. Of course, it's hard to purchase any holiday decor that isn't made in China. Even little American flags for the 4th of July are often made there. And I am not sophisticated about economics. Perhaps there is something good about our buying a lot of stuff from them. But it goes against the grain with me. I don't understand why we don't make our own stuff.
You know, I've heard that Abraham Lincoln once reasoned about the railroads we were building back then--"If we buy our railroad ties from England, we'll have the ties and England will have the money. But if we make our own ties, we'll have the ties and the money." I guess that is hopelessly naive of me, to think that we could still do this in the modern world. But it makes horse sense to me. I don't get why we have to buy all our stuff from somewhere else.

Ugh! I'm tired of both sides not really accomplishing much!
They just need to start listening to us, and I think that they are now. We're pushing back!

Some political news related to a change in policy at the federal level due to the new administration that certain members of this forum may or may not find interesting:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/0 ... 64921.html
While a slim majority of Americans call themselves "conservative", if you ask them specific questions on particular policies or issues, they reveal themselves to be surprisingly liberal, especially on social issues and most noticeably when compared to commonly held views of a mere few decades ago.
Fifty years ago, this (
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/1 ... 22784.html) was the mainstream conservative view. Today, this story is appalling to all but a very small minority.
Terms like "liberal" and "conservative", much like "Republican" and "Democrat", are relative to the times, which always are a' changin'.
