I find a lot of your comments incoherent.

Most people do hee hee LOL...although there are some that 'get' me completely. That tells you something about them too LOL.

I still haven't been able to place my experiences into a coherent story but it did a number on my psyche as young adolescent. It was powerful, exciting, scary and something I felt I better leave alone...
I wonder how much a person's upbringing comes into play. I ended up feeling there was nothing to it, certainly nothing powerful or scary. I think toys like Ouija boards are more like mirrors than they are doorways.

Maybe so...but sometimes and just sometimes it might be something you don't have any control over and do you really want to risk opening that door to some unknown or malevolent spirit? I know you do not necessarily believe in that...that's fine. I just had too many experiences to discount them as chance or random...it's just best for me and my well being to stay off of it...I'm not overly religious or suspicious but I got very freaked out by something that happened with it....and that's all I will say.

That's why I say it's more a reflection of what the individual brings to it; two people may have a similar experience, but take away something completely different from it. I would have to believe to except the premise that there is any risk involved, but considering that you do believe, I think your decision to stay away from such things is a good one. Even if there isn't anything actually happening, the stress that would come from you thinking that there is would be a negative result in and of itself. Then again, your experience may have been more specific, more relevant, more convincing than mine.

That's a good point and something I believe is very true...I don't claim to know any of the answers but I do know if you believe and you are open to it...the mind is powerful enough to convince you of things as well...but why risk it? I like where my soul is and don't really want to invite anything else inside me...it fascinates me and scares me at the same time but I do know I am stronger than I ever thought for having gone through that and my spirit feels good now...it didn't back then.

Heh heh heh... My problem is that I
DO claim to know the answers....!!

Luckily, I'm not quite silly enough to think the answers I've come up with would apply to anyone else...
Or, even if I think they would apply, I know they wouldn't suffice.

Just watch yourself with this stuff Mac...I know it seems like a game and it's easy to laugh some of it off...I'm just telling you I thought the same way and was sure I had all the answers as well. My words may not mean a whole helluva lot and all I can tell you is this fools experiences and I wouldn't wish that on anyone...thankfully nothing bad happened to me directly but it did to a friend and it cost another person their life...was it because of the Ouija board? No, I don't think so...but somehow it knew before anyone else did...that was scary enough for us.
I'm just saying...be protective of yourself...you are a good guy and I would hate to see anything bad happen to you...

I'm not just saying it; I really do appreciate your concern, mate. I know it's heartfelt, and comes from a place of belief inside you. It's like when people tell me they'll pray for me. Even though there isn't the smallest part of me that believes it will make any difference, the sentiment behind it is truly touching; one of the beautiful things about humans, really. That compassion and concern. I appreciate it.
But I don't worry about the supernatural. I just can't. It would be like worrying that a team of ninjas has been hired to assassinate me by smothering me with bananas. It's such an outlandish premise, I wouldn't even know where to begin taking it seriously.

It's hard to un-brainwash yourself even when you want to.

In the entire realm of your existence, there never was nor ever will be anything more powerful than your own mind. The degree to which outside influences may have an effect on it depends entirely on what you allow. What you were told when you were a child and your mind was still forming carries only as much weight today as you give it.

I realize that, I'm not walking around afraid God will strike me dead for my sinful life, or that demons will crawl their way in if I read a dirty book. But sometimes things can shake you, even after you've convinced yourself of the truth. It's frustrating and makes you feel foolish. That's all.
