This may sound funny but get a pair of those Sketchers 'Shapeups'...most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned and my feet are not tired any more at the end of the day. Feels like you are walking on a cloud.

Why is the phrase "walking on a cloud" used to express a feeling of comfort, when actually walking on a cloud would most likely prove wet and unsupportive; two traits commonly associated with foot discomfort?

Hmmmm you think too much. Think back to when you were a wee little Mac...you looked at the clouds as big and fluffy. That's where the feeling of comfort comes from.

Mmmm no I didn't. I used them to estimate how long I could spend outside without needing to put on sunscreen.

I don't think a cloud would be a very sturdy walking surface.

I heard the same thing from a friend, she would not shut up about her amazing expensive shoes that brought her such comfort. Then she fell down the stairs in them and never wore them again. I was not at the scene.

I'm not a mean person so I won't say anything mean but klutz comes to mind...she should probably walk on flat ground before attempting such difficult maneuvers
