Just beyond the stand if firs way in the back of the sloping hillside photo, there is an old logging road that drops straight down about 150 feet into a ravine filled with brambles.

On the other side of the house there is a stagnant pond with sheer banks that only drop about 2 stories, with nothing to grab onto to pull yourself up. They could swim to the opposite shore and hike up through the poison oak, however.

I have only read reports of mountain lions, and never saw one except the tail of one skee-dadling off the road on my way to work.

when I walk down a street in the fall I like to hear and feel the crunch of dried leaves.

Mid-October and the leaves still aren't fully changed I guess Halloween will be that much more pretty.
