I think as long as you want to dress up and go then it is great. I stopped sometine in middle school because I thought is wasn't "cool" anymore. My kids are 9, 11, and 17 and we still go. We go several times a year to all of the random Halloween events in our town. Our zoo has tot nights, out campground has a party night + Halloween night. Its all fun.
I am 38 and still dress up and go. Then we come home and pass out candy at our house.

A simularthing happened to me, Vampire. I was in 7th grade, and I fealt self-consience about goint TOTing because I was 13 (I was a year behind in school because I had to repeat 2nd grade due to eye surgery back in 1967) and I more or less thought that I would look "babyish" going TOTing, so I decided that I would still dress up and go to the Mt. Greenwood Park Halloween party, and hand out candy to the TOTers, but I would not actualy go door to door any more.

When I look back on it now, I sort of wich I had waited until I was in HS before quitting TOTing.

That's how I look at, Goul. Like I said, if I had children, or even grand children, I would love to dress up and go TOTing with them, but with nobody around the house to hand out TOT candy, it's really not an option for me anymore. Besides, I have as much fun handing out the candy and seeing all the different costumes as I use to have when I would TOT for it. So it's not a real loss for me. New Lenox, where my nephew lives, is playing around with the idea of having an out ri ght ban on TOT in the name of safety. I personaly would not want that to happen, but if it does, I told him that he could come to Dwight, and my house could be the first TOT stop. Too bad that they only have from 3 to 7, and then it's over. But it would be fun for me. I can have a little Halloween gathering with them after TOT.

It's funny, but there were some houses I would just not go to when I use to go TOTing. They creaped me out for some reason.

I still TOT and I'm 19! I usually only go for half an hour and then stay home and hand out candy. I always go to my moms house and stay there for Halloween.

Nothing wrong with that at all, HC. Like I said, I would go out TOTing if I had a child or grandchild to take TOTing. And I'm 48.

I stopped Trick or Treat'ing at 11, I believe... or maybe I was 10 when I stopped. If I had a kid, I'd go. But me and my wife both agree, 24 & 25 isn't old enough to become a parent.

I'm 32 and I still go but not to get candy, my kids get that. I go in costume just for fun, I love it and I get to pick all the gum out of their bags! (I don't let them chew gum, it just ends up in their hair!).

I didn't go out when I was in Grade 7 because I thought I was getting too old. But I decided to go out in Grade 8 for one last time after my brother talked me into it. I wore a mask so at least I didn't look all that old. After that I just got into buying candy (and snacking on whatever candy was around the house at Halloween).

It seems that elementary school is the age for TOTing. Once kids get old enough for HS it's time to stop (at least as far as asking for candy). But usually by then one can buy candy anyways, and HS are often more into parties. I usually wind up getting about the same amount of candy on after-Halloween sales. (The trick now is to stop buying candy.)

My nephew just started HS this year, but I don't know if he'll be going out. He might just go out to accompany his younger cousins.

As I said, I was a year behind in school because of eye surgery when I was little. When I was in7th grade, I was 13 years old, and I was startign to feel 'self-consience' about a lot of things. I actualy did plan to TOT that year, but as Halloween drew closer, my 'self-consiencness' sort of took over, so I decided that it was a little old for TOT. I stayed home and handed out candy, and I saw HS kids come to our door, as well as all of my class mates and the 8th graders who were all my age or older.

When we moved to that arm pit of a town, New Lenox, Ill, kids as old as 18 rang our door bell in costume.

If I had it to do over again, knowing what I know now, I would probably have TOTed until I was a Sophmore in High School. But I do sort of think that once you're old enough to drive a car.........
