I saw that cat on Facebook or Tumblr. While I don't think it very ethical, It is 100% awesome!

Would you rather it be a horse, of course, of course? Cool new AvTar by the way.

both are pretty awesome and i'm ok with it as long as they weren't adversely affected by the dying process

I'd use non toxic glow on the dark acrylic on the horse then put it between a few black lights.
That would look awesome riding across an open field at night.

This is one of my favorite threads, so I'm gonna give it a bump.
I know this isn't "early," but it caught my attention anyway. I was at Kohls just yesterday, and on one of the back aisles in the back of the store were a few Halloween items. Clearance section of course, but I just used a little imagination and pretended it was close to season

.
Also, I just got back from the grocery store and noticed some small pumpkins still hanging around. Don't think I remember pumpkins being around this long after the holidays. Anyways, still cool because it looked a little like autumn.

I think everyone loves this thread. Those are some hearty pumpkins. I think the last I saw were in early December.

I actualy have 3 pumpkins that I didn't get around to carving. They are sitting in my back room, as orange and ripe, and as frozen as can be.

Went to Walmart yesterday and surprisingly enough found some Halloween stickers and Halloween themed ice cream.
A little random for this time of year, but still welcome for someone like me who enjoys the holiday.
Pumpkin man I still have a couple of those itty bitty pumpkins I got for Halloween, and evidently they must have dried out because they didn't rot like the other ones did. lol!

If the three sitting in my back room don't actualy start to rot, I might actualy carve one of them for "Little Halloween" next June.
I wonder if it's possible to freeze dry a pumpkin?

I kind of wondered the same thing. I found these...though this is more for food than for pumpkin carving and preserving a pumpkin:
http://naturesallfoods.com/pumkin.php
Pumpkin Gutter mentions freeze drying in his list of ways to preserve his pumpkins in his Q&A section of his site:
http://www.pumpkingutter.com/pumpkininfo.html
So it's assumed that you can, but I doubt it's cheap. But if I find anything else, I'll post it here.

I don't know if it's a really early sighting, or a leftover from last year, but I stopped by the grocery store last night and they had some Shipyard Pumpkinhead beer in the in the craft beer section. I grabbed all four! I think they will fulfill their destiny on Friday night. The store has a deal where you can get any six craft beers in the section for $9.99 so I filled out the pack with a Leinenkugel's Orange Shandy and a Sam Adams Cherry Chocolate Bock. Both were very good. I figured I'd like the Orange Shandy because I love their Lemon Shandy.

I love those horses, and I love the black light idea, too. The rider could dress up in a headless horseman costume, to make it more interesting.
NeverMore, I think that was a left-over from last year, but if you want to get technical about it, since it's 1014, and October hasn't happened yet, you can call it an early sighting.

I still have two of the Pumpkinheads left Mike. I'll drink one for you tonight.
