My favorite cat was my first one, Alice. She died last year when she was about 13. We all grieved terribly. I considered her the "ambassador" of her species, because I had never owned a cat before, and she was so fantastic that she got me hooked on cats. She was brilliant. She also had the most amazingly beautiful green eyes I have ever seen.

All cats are beautiful. I'm allergic to them though. Bummer!

My daughter and I both got a kick out of that.
Actually, I have always considered myself a dog person, because I was raised with dogs and love them. I just discovered in mid-life that I can love cats, too.

My roomie's dog and cat are BFFs. Every time she takes the dog with her that dang cat won't shut up til she comes back.
