I read somewhere that the day before Halloween was called something like All Souls Day. The day after is Day of the Dead, so that gives us 3 official days of Halloween!
Although, I start decorating in September. I need the ENTIRE month of October to enjoy my favorite holiday.

I hear you, Shanda. It seems like a month isn't enough. I too second, Friday, the 13th!!

Some times Friday the 13th can be even scarier then halloween. I love to take my motorcycle out on Friday the 13th, and will likely be taking the bike when I go on my August Friday 13th 'haunted road trip' to Bachelors Grove.
Regarding "All Souls Day," here is how it works. Halloween, or "All Hallows Eve" is the first day of the festivel. November 1st, is All Saints Day, or the day we celebrate everyone who is in Heaven, and November 2nd, which is All Souls Day, which is the day we celebrate and pray for all the souls who have departed this Earth, but are in purgatory. It's also a day that we honor and remember all of our dearly departed.
