I guess I should explain something about the pics. My camera is a digital camera, it has a lot of auto settings, but there is a manual setting that I have never messed with before. If I took these pics on the auto settings they wouldnt show up, so I am playing with the aperture and speed settings so I can get pics in the dark. I like the way the tombstone looks, reminds me of the Haunted Mansion. I lit these with the $2 9 LED flash lights I talked about in another thread with blue filter on it.

The only way I can ever get semi-decent pictures of my graveyard lit up at night is with a tripod and the camera on manual setting. I can't bump the ISO much higher than 200 or the images get too noisy, so I especially like working with very long shutter speeds (over four seconds). When photographing from the road, it also gives me a chance to catch light from passing cars, which can create all kinds of neat effects.

Once you start playing around with aperture and shutter speed, Spooky, you'll find it hard to ever go back to auto modes. You just can't get interesting images on auto. If you've got an adjustable flash, try playing with that too. I like using the flash set on the lowest output to throw a bit of extra light on foreground objects, and a long shutter speed to pick up things further back.

Is your blue fluorescent one of the 13 watt party bulbs?

I have three settings in manual mode, it's "A", "P", "S", all I have played with is the "A" and "S", I need to read the manual tho and see exactly what I am doing, right now I just adjust the numbers and see what they do :)

as far as I can tell there is flash on, fill flash, no flash.

I dont know the wattage of the light but it is a party light, it's pretty bright tho

Ta, Rising Dead Man. People who know me in real life wouldn't believe it's a faked photo...

Is it a squiggly bulb, Spooky? Like the new low energy bulbs the tree huggers are trying to get everyone to use?

Sounds like me on Earth Day. I take the muffler off of my car and drive around town stopping and idling frequently.

I prefer to think that I'm accelerating the need for us to develop more alternative energy sources.

Love all the pics, I have a cool digi cam too but it has too many buttons and switches on it that I don't know what to do with (lost the manual). I will have to mess with it and see what I can come up with. I know it has the black/white, sepia, solarize, neg. art which I have used and those look pretty cool.
