Oh Catzilla, love the decor!
I haven't decorated for halloween for YEARS even though I love the holiday. Taking care of kids seems to always take precedence so I never get around to it.
I'm definitely planning on doing some decorating this year. My preference would be decor with a bit of country flair. I'm not into the creepy decor.

I also like some of the older style Halloween decorations, and despite all the 'political correctness' I still love the cardboard cut-outs of witches on broom sticks flying across the face of the moon.

I have been fascinated by witches ever since I can remember; therefore, they make up a good portion of my decoration collection. I also enjoy other "old school" characters like skeletons, Jack-O-Lanterns, and ghosts. Over the years, I have integrated some of the characters I've played on stage into my decorating. These characters include The Phantom (he has been a favorite of mine for years), Scarecrows (1. The Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz is an all-time favorite, 2. They just say fall to me), the Headless Horseman, the Mummy, and Dracula.
Halloween also just wouldn't be the same for me without my Telco Motion-ettes!

When did witches on broom sticks become politically incorrect? Why didn't I get the memo??

Really? I'm not a fan of American Idol.

Some Wiccan groups strongly oppose the negative representation of "their kind"...even though the Halloween Witch and Wiccan Witches are not one and the same, and no one tries to imply that. I have a lot of Wiccan friends who openly embrace the broom-flying, pointy hat-wearing characters. I guess Pagan religions have crazies just like Christians and othe religions.

Funny...it just seems to me Wiccans and Pagans are the least judgmental of any religious group I ever encountered. I've never seen any one bothered by the broom flying, but they do make note to point out that "real" witches aren't like that.

Kind of, like Presbyterians are the same as Lutherans.
Same God, different paths.

Not quite. Wicca is to Pagan as Baptist is to Christian. It's a sect of a larger belief. All Wiccans are Pagans, but not all Pagans are Wiccan. See what I'm saying? Some Pagans follow the ancient Egyptian belief system, some believe that faeries are high beings, etc.
