Where in Arkansas is it pop? My mother's family is from southeast Arkansas, and it is always Coke for them.

Oh, that's way up in the Ozarks, other side of the state from my mother's folks. Her family was from Pine Bluff. That is basically on the edge of the Delta country, or what is called the Delta in Mississippi.

I can easily believe that the regional dialects may vary from one part of the state to another.

NeverMore, my eye's are wearing out.

What's really strange, is that although I often like a lot of sweet drinks like soda pop, and need to have cream and sugar in my coffee, I actually prefer my tea to be plain. No sugar, creamer or anything.
I do occasionally add honey to my tea but for some weird reason, I just like the taste of freshly brewed ice cold tea without anything added. Maybe some lemon, but that's it. I don't like it sweet because to me it just ruins the flavor of the tea, rather than compliments it.

Another thing I find a little humorous, there's this one type of tea called Pure Leaf. Up North you can usually find a choice of Unsweetened or Sweetened. Down south, you have a choice of Sweetened or Extra Sweetened. lol. I asked the Pepsi guy if we could carry the Unsweetened. Eventually we got it, and it actually turned out to be a hit. Who would've thought? lol.

Mau, I don't usually confess this, but I don't like sweet tea, either. (I hope they don't revoke my Southern Citizenship card!)

I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with that though. I love the country and consider myself a country girl having grown up in the country part of New York, but don't really like country music, so I think you can be a Southerner without liking sweet tea.

That is ironic witchy! But I totally respect that.

I like the city when I get a chance to go, but it's a little too busy and crowded for my taste, I wouldn't want to live somewhere where I'd always have to be watching my back all the time. It's also a bit more expensive.

Of course the plus side is there's probably more jobs, and I wouldn't have to drive so far to get anywhere. The nearest mall, is probably about an hour and a half from where I live. I live right in the middle of the mountains. If I lived in the city or in one of the suburbs, it probably wouldn't take as long to get anywhere. Of course I lived in a small town before moving south, and Wal-Mart was only 5 minutes away. Now the nearest one is 35 minutes. That's still not bad though. I usually just get my groceries at work when I'm already there.

Not of course, that anywhere is really safe. Bears and other wild animals live here, along with crazy drivers!

Don't think we have Great Value around here. I won't eat Ben & Jerrys because of their support of a cop killer in Philadelphia. I do like me some ice cream sandwiches or as we samiches.

Murph. You should know by now that its called Co-Coler. And yes everything was a Coke, back in the day. If you called something sodi-pop, that was code for beer! LOL! But Georgia and Florida don't have dry counties anymore, so the only time we use the code is back in Arkansas.

You will of course have to give up your southron citizenship for not liking sweet tea. Truth be told, my mother didn't like sweet tea either. Actually I've been to plenty of restaurants in Ark-Tx-La, that serve unsweeten tea. Heathens!!!

Better than Coke imho is Red Rock Cola. Better known for their ginger ale, they're bottled here and sold in 4 packs. They still use cane sugar to sweeten with. That's also why they sell it in 4-packs and they aren't cheap. About $4.00 for a 4-pack.

Oh no! A police officer has informed me that I must surrender my Southern citizenship! What if I drink sweet tea, say, three or four times a year? Sort of like the Test Act in England back in the day, when people were required to take communion four times a year in the Anglican church, no questions asked, to prove their religious conformity? I could probably drink it four times a year, on the first day of each season.
