For me, July 4th kicks off the Holiday season.
By then, summer is winding down and we are planning back to school. All of the Halloween themed catalogs start arriving at the house by the end of July. By Sept. the magazines and web stores start having Halloween items. I start pulling out, dusting off and making repairs on last years broken decorations.

My family goes camping alot starting in April until Halloween weekend. Out campground closes for winter Nov. 1st. weekend.

So for me, summer flies by as one long Halloween prep time!
I am the shadow on the moon at night

I do a lot of Halloween prep in the late Summer, but the Summer itself for me is a great time in and of itself, because of the 4thof July, my birthday, and I may be takign a road trip to boot. I also love to ride my motorcycle, which I do from April (weather permitting. April is a rather unstable month) through October, and part of my Halloween tradition is a midnight motorcycle ride to look at all the decorations. Hey, there's no doubt that Halloween is my favorite day, but Summer is my favorite season for things to do.
