I try to avoid the scane during the last 3 months of the year, too. Halloween is also the least of my problems. Thanksgiving and Christmas treats are a lot more abundant, a lot more tempting and a lot more available. The present problems I'm having with one of my older brothers may keep me away from Thanksgiving this year, but all the "goodies" are already in the stores.

I tend to grow in the winter. I can't stand to eat too much in the heat of summer but come the first cold front I start looking for the pumpkin pie.

We usually hand out chocolate bars and chips, although it seems like that's the common thing now. I seem to recall candy being more common, although "bite-size" chocolate bars are about a third the size they use to be. The leftovers never last more than a few days, but there's always plenty of family members around, many dropping in regularly.

I did give out popcorn balls one year, many years ago, but it's impossible to do that now after the candy companies fooled people into believing theirs was the only safe candy. Our neighbor use to give out homemade fudge. It was always the best thing to get.

Won't be handing out anything. I never get trick or treaters. Plus I won't be home anyway.

Why, candy of course. What a very odd question.

I like Halloween a lot, so I give lots, lots of candy. Because when I was a kid, it was fun.
