Here's Is something a little different.

I've been making 3D slides for several years that are viewable in VR goggles or printable to view in old fashioned stereoscope viewers.

It was recently pointed out to me that if I switched the images, you can view them if you cross your eyes to the point where the 3D image appears in the middle of your view.

It takes a little practice but if you try you can see a cool image.

This one is a little easier to see.

Oh, Andy, I wish I could see it. I used to be able to do that. But eleven or twelve years ago I developed ocular histoplasmosis in my left eye, dead center, so I have no central vision in that eye anymore. Since then I've been unable to see 3-D imagery.

The funny thing is, there was a vogue for 3-D movies around that time, and they used to annoy me. I thought they were gimmicky. But now it bugs me that I can no longer see those effects.

I hope others here can appreciate your discovery.

What am I looking for here? A reflection in the mirror?
Did you discover a ghost in the woods?

I think you're just looking for the 3D effect. I used to love those when they would print them in the local paper. I was good at it, back when I still had stereoscopic vision.

Cross your eyes while looking at the images.

Do so until the two images overlap, and a third image comes into focus in the center.

That is the 3D image.

It takes practice.

Here's on image with someone else's image.

Maybe the subject will motivate you to try again.

I found a small, but nicely detailed, lighted ceramic house today for $4.

Oh, that is a charming little house!

I don't usually try to get into Halloween at this time of year, but lately my husband has been pulling out Halloweenish DVDs. Things like Haunted History of Halloween, various Haunted City things (Chicago, Savannah, DC), etc.

I enjoy the original Haunted History very much.

Another favorite is the Disney adaptation of 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' starring Jason Robards and a young Jonathan Price.

It encompasses all things autumn for me.

I may have seen that many years ago, but it's not in my collection. I'll have to look for it.

Ray Bradbury and Disney; hard to go wrong.

Once, when I was teaching for one yr at Univ of Richmond, Ray Bradbury came to speak. He was fascinating. The main thing I remember about him is what a positive, upbeat guy he was. And he was good friends with Disney, whom he spoke about. I think they were very similar personalities.

I find it fascinating how personalities gravitate toward each other, similar to planetary bodies.
