There's nothing like the smell when your knife first goes into the pumpkin, and you get that little trickle of juice! And then, when you cut the top off, the smell of the pumpkin guts and seeds........ Mmmmmmmmmahhhhhhhhhhhhh........!!!!!!
I love how my hands smell after chopping garlic and carving pumpkins!!!!!

Re: What Are Your Favorite "Top" Halloween Decorations
It's funmy you should mention that, MacPhantom, because I was thinking that very same thing. The smell of a freshly cut pumpkin is one of my all time favorites, and brings back all kinds of wonderful childhood Halloween memories. Two smells that get me excited are the smell of a freshly cut pumpkin and the smell of a pine tree at Christmas time.

I prefer candles in pumpkins, too, Mike. I did put the little flicker lights in them a couple of years ago, however, because no one was going to be home on Halloween night. I don't like to leave live fires unattended. As long as someone is home, though, I definitely prefer the real candles.

That's smart thinking. I never leave a fire in my fire place unattended, and I allways blow out all candles before I got o bed or before I leave the house.
On days I use my fire place, I make total sure that I have everything I need in stock so I don't end up having to make a run to the store, and if I forgot something, tough luck. I won't risk my hosue burning down because I forgot to pick up a bottle of katsup or something.
