I suppose that the melting ice caps would affect the rotational spin of the planet.

Like if you spin a hard-boiled egg, because the mass is a solid, it spins faster for a longer period than if you try and spin an uncooked egg.

Very funny. I meant the year. It's nearing the end of the school year and everything seems to moving really slow.

Uggggghhhhh... During my three years of middle school and four years of high school, May was always the most god-awful foot draggingly slow month. Then July and August felt about twelve hours long each.
