Avoiding lawsuits on or after Halloween

Post by iHaunt » Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:08 pm

Any ideas? :!:

For instance, someone had a lady fall into his own haunt yard, she tripped on the curb. And, she was after his homeowner's insurance for medical payments.

So what do you suggest?

I wouldn't know what to tell you on that one. Seems like a retty frivelous law suit to me. I would be sure that the haunting decorations are on the lawn, and there are no wires or anything for people to trip over on the walk leading up to the front door, where the TOTers go.

Right. If that lady fell on the curb, but who built the curb? The simple answer is the city. It wasn't always that person's fault it was there, nor was it's his fault that she tripped. :?

I see.

Anyway my girlfriend told me about over there in Cuba. If you do solicit with prostitutes on the street, and you get caught by the police. The police will ask you to give them cash, or else go to jail. Also, if the police see any street hookers walk around, the police will ask them same thing to give them cash or do a sexual favor with police. If she refuse to do so, then she can go to jail. Well that's another country laws are different from us.

That's very common for a community to require that residents keep the sidewalk in front of their homes clear of snow. In Illinois, it's the same deal. In my home town, we actualy have a guy who is hired by the city to go around all the sidewalks with a snow blower, but I would not take the chance. I allways go out there with a snow s hovel and clear away any snow, right down to the pavement. If I forge to do it, or if it snows during the night, and I have to go to work and don't have time to shovel in the morning, the mail man will leave a nice little note in my mail box requesting that I keep my walk way clear of snow.

And in most if not all states, if some one slips and falls in front of your house, you can be held liable.

If you get scared of being sued, then you should put up a sign like this:

DANGER!
Any attempt at unauthorized entry may result in death!

 I think that's a good way of stating don't mess around.
