I voted no, because most people who are home hand out candy and at 39 (out with my little kids) I'd go to jail.....

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I don't know if this would count as a trick or not, but last Halloween I did light off a bunch of orange and yellow smoke bombs that I saved from last 4thof July. I plan to do the same thing next Halloween if I can get hold of more orange smoke bombs.

Halloween pranks are as common place today as they ever were. You will allways find a tree fullof toilet paper, a car full of shaving cream, and a whole host of other little tricks that were pulled in the name of Halloween fun.

Animal lovers take note: You may not want to read beyone this point, but if you do, PLEASE REMEMBER that the story that I am about to relate was something that I did when I was 12, and didn't know better.

When I was a kid, there was sort of a "contest" in our neighboor hood as to who could play the most outlandish Halloween prank. My friend and I decided to buy about6 or 8 bottles of Nair Hair Remover, and shave the tales of all the dogs in the neighborhood. Of course, there were a few exceptions, being that there were som dogs, a bull mastife here, a German shepherd there that would tear us limb from limb (and deservedly so) but for the most art we all pulled it off. The next morning, everyone who was walking their dogs were all discussing it, and all the dogs were with their masters, sporting their naked tales. Of course, we all had to do the same thing to our own dogs in order to avoid suspicion. One lady actualy took her dog to the vets because she thought he had some kind of a virus that caused him tolose all of his fur on his tale.

When you were young, it sounds like you were quite the trickster. Did you ever admit that you were the one who shaved the dogs tales?

WHAT!? and why not? you need to dig deep down into the traditions of old and have some fun in the pre-victorian era ways :)
