I have always preferred working nights. Fewer supervisors and less hassle.

that's what i hear.. i've never worked nights before... how was the adjustment?
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

No adjustment really. It's my preferred time. Although I hated leaving the house at 10:30. Everyone else is getting cozy and I'm off.

Some people say that they can't stand sleeping in the day time. My problem was not getting to sleep at all. There was always something to be done day or night.

I've had to work the night shift before. I was fine for the first few hours, but when three or three thirty hit, that's when I began to feel it. I've had some pretty irregular sleep schedules in my life, but it's rare for me to be awake between 3am and 5am... just sort of a block of time that I've spent 95% of my life asleep during.

But driving home at 5am is so much nicer than 5pm.

I worked the night shift most of my adult working life, I'm a night person so it's not really a problem unless I didnt get enough sleep during that day.

I worked overnights for awhile, and loved it.
The nice, easy, quiet drive home.

The only thing I didn't like was not having a social life. All my buddies worked day shift.
I was glad to get back on days.
Oh, and if I got my sleep disturbed, I was a wreck. The other down-side.

Painting a room is the last thing I would do if I had free time.
Napping is the first.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

I'm sure spookymufu can attest to the summer heat and humidity here in Texas. It is for this reason I have always preferred the night shift. It backfired once when I took a grave-yard job at the airport. I ended up cleaning airplanes that were 120 degrees plus even at night.
Yikes!
