Pumpkin Carving Masters?
I haven't seen anyone showing off their creations. How about posting some pics here, so we can see them?
Thanks.

Re: Pumpkin Carving Masters?
i don't have any pics of the previous year but when october rolls around i should have a couple carved for our first party

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Just how complex are you going to get?adrian wrote:those are fantastic!! this year i think i'm going to try more complex carvingsany kits you like to use? or tool suggestions?
I used wood carving tools and pumpkin master sculpting tools, knives, and poker.... but there are also other tools I've heard are useful such as Speedball linoleum cutters and clay sculpting tools. I've used a dremel tool on pumpkins too... but I didn't like how that got flesh everywhere. It was a big mess to clean up.... and I had to wipe my pumpkin down every few minutes just to see what I was doing-- though they are good for detail work.

yea i bet a dremel does make quite a mess haha
i'm pretty artistic so the complexity really isn't an issue. i've carved a many a sculptures out of random canvases lol
i'll post my attempts on here as soon as some pumpkins are ready for picking

Good Lord!
That's an impressive display. How long did it take you to do that carve? How long is the display up?

Re: Pumpkin Carving Masters?
I have some pictures of past pumpkins on my blog at http://writerpatrick.spaces.live.com/. I also have a page at Geocities at http://www.geocities.com/writerpatrick/pumpkin which will be up until Geocities shuts down this month. I've still yet to setup a new page at my new site, although I probably won't do that until after I've done this year's.
