Non-Halloween related stuff. Same rules: family oriented, no flaming, be nice. ;-)

Today Google changed its logo to a UFO abducting one of the O's in Google. I don't understand what this is supposed to mean. Strange, There are no historical events or anything like that today. and that's usually why Google changes it's logo.

I'm guessing, since they did a logo for this year's Comic-Con, they decided to do one for the Dragon*Con, which is taking place this weekend in Atlanta.

The logo was in honor of a the 20 year anniversary of a video game the creators of google liked called Zero Wing. The UFO symbolized the alien theme of that video game.

It was a reference to Zero Wing, but not only that. Google posted a secret message in the form of a string of numbers which translated to "All your O are belong to us". Therefore being a reference to the internet meme "All your base are belong to us" in the game Zero Wing.

Now it's cop cycles... crop circles. I'm beginning to see a pattern.

i liked todays logo :) i wonder why google was the only search engine (the largest at that) that didn't acknowledge 9/11

I saw that bar code as well. Very interesting. It's cool that Google changes its logo, it adds some extra excitement to "googling".

I even ran my mouse across it thinking that Google would show through the bar code.
It's always fun to see what they'll come up with next.

Believe it or not, I've got a collection of every logo Google has ever used, including a lot from other countries. Call me magpie, I collect things. I'm weird that way. At least these don't take up space in the attic.
