Low 60s??? That's about the temp I keep my house at. I'm not usualy affected by cold weather, but it's been unbelievable here lately. Temps below 0, 50 mph winds, snow, ice, it's been the coldest and snowiest Winter in a long time. It sort of reminds me of January of 79. The snow was nothing likt it was then, but is ture got cold.

Back in 79, we had two 8 foot snow drifts on either side of our drive way after shoveling the snow. It took my dad, two brothers and me almost 12 hours to finish the job using hand shovels. When that snow was actualy falling, and all the roads were becoming inpassible, I and a buddy of mine drove up to the Old Chicago Amusement Park in a 71 Datsun 1200 with bald tires and a very poor heater. When we left to go home, the snow was flying, the wipers kept icing up and my buddy had to get out and keep knocking the ice off the wiper blades. We shivered and shook all the way to 112th and Drake where he lived. What normaly was a 2 hour drive ended up being a 6 hour night mare, and I still had another 25 miles to go to get home. I spent the night with a cousen of mine.

Just a little note here. The "Old Chicago" amusement park was one of the very first and only in door amusement parks that had a whole host of rides, shows and gaming arcades. It was pretty neat, and many radio personalities and famous singers use to perform there before they went out of business in the early 80s. There was a roller coaster called "The Loop," which had a giant 'loop de loop' that ran right up in the doam of this massive building.
