Bisbee, AZ Ghost Walk: Photos

Post by jadewik » Tue Jul 08, 2008 5:07 pm

So... in January, I went on a ghost walk in Bisbee, AZ (http://www.oldbisbeeghosttour.com/). They have TONS of ghost stories because the place is an old mining town (just an hour from Tombstone too). One of the supposedly haunted places on the tour was Hotel LaMore. There's a "ghost cat" who haunts the corner room on the second story. He'll curl up on your bed and sleep with ya. There's also a miner's ghost that supposedly walks down the stairs on the side of the hotel. And, behind the building is where a woman in white scared the heebie-jeebies out of two kids, saving them from a rock-slide.

Anyway, while I was taking photos, I snapped a few interesting ones (some I haven't uploaded yet). One in particular was an "orb" that was there one moment and gone the next. I checked and there was nothing "reflecty" in the area. It had also recently rained, so probability of "dust" being there was slim... and the tour walked the other way-- not where the orb was. Still, I remain skeptical... but I do enjoy reading your theories, so post away! =)

Photos with descriptions above the images are as follows:

Hotel LaMore-- the window above where it says "hotel" is supposedly the room where the cat lives.

The staircase beside the hotel where the miner supposedly walks

Behind the hotel, where the woman in white saved the kids from a rock slide.

The location where I saw the orb (or dust speck)

Now you see the orb/dust. It's a pretty large speck of dust....

Now you don't... This photo was taken about a minute later. That's our tour guide's husband in the photo. =)

I also have a really fun photo of a see-through lady... but I cannot confirm it's someone who was walking at the time I took the photo or not. I haven't uploaded it either or I'd post. Maybe I'll get around to posting it later.

If that's dust it's the size of a boulder...
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

I think the speck of dust was tiny but in the picture it appears huge because of the flash.

Wow, it's taken me a while to post this...

Here's that photo with the see-through-woman. My explanation is that I have the camera on "night photo", which takes a while to take. The tour group was moving at the time... though, I've never really heard of digital cameras doing double exposures before. *shrug*

... and here are some other photos from the Bisbee Ghost Walk with the accompanying stories (still not all the photos I have... but eh... ). Bear in mind I took the tour in January and this isn't even half of what the tour-guide tells you on the tour, which is way more fun.

Below: Just a window advert' for the Bisbee ghost walk.

Below: This Fine Art shop didn't used to be a fine art shop... the building actually used to be two stories tall. The second story was lost in a fire. Reportedly, there was one casualty in the fire-- a little girl. She likes to play games with the owner and, often, customers. One of her favourite things to do in the evening, before the owner locks up, is to run back and forth across the second story.... which, again... doesn't presently exist.

Below: The Oliver House. There are some stories with more information than I have patience to type up here: http://www.sgha.net/az/bisbee/oliver2.html

Below: Two photos of the City Park.... where ghosts of children playing can be seen. One father had an experience with his daughter there... They were playing on some of the yard equipment and the daughter asked her dad if she could play with "the other kids" (kids he couldn't see). So she went over to the steps where she appeared to be playing with several kids. The father went over to play with his daughter, and she stopped and pouted. "Daddy, you scared them away and they ran through the wall".

Below: One last photo here... this is a shop. I really like this story-- not because it's scary, but because of the simplicity of the haunt. I can't remember much of the details of the place's history, but I do remember that there's a ghost of a little boy who peers out of that upper left window. From time-to-time, he can be seen waving at passers-by. I waved at the window anyway, even though I didn't see anything. Can't help but be friendly. =)

Oh yeah, that is definitly a person walking. Not a ghost.
