I greatly resent it when people compare snakes to lawyers and politicians. Snakes are much nicer to be around and actually perform a valuable service. They eat rodents and vermin. So go find a lawyer or politician and feed him to the nearest snake.

Those photos of the Parisian nightclubs are fascinating! I had never heard of that vogue before. I wonder if the Cabaret de l'Enfer was older? Some of those photos look older than the '20s to me.

A carbon-black worker during the 40's.

It's used in tires, hoses, belts etc, and is highly carcinogenic so given that he is also smoking in the photo he probably died of some form of cancer.
