I just got accepted to Substitute teach at the local school district! :D I'll have to quit my cashier job though; but I have a second job on the college doing maintenance. So it's all good. 8) I can't wait to get started! I start August 10th. This is going to be a great opportunity for me to get some classroom experience.

Wish me luck you guys!!! :D

That's absolutely my good news Murf! Thank you for your kind words. :) I hope so! Time will tell. This is only the first step toward my goal of becoming a full fledged teacher.
Well second step if you count the fact that I've returned to school. It's time for me to move on up the career ladder.
I knew my thirties would be full of goodness!

Good luck Mau. Set those kids on the right path. and if they don't listen to you, a paddle with holes drilled in it works wonders. Believe me, I know.

NASA is about to make an announcement in 15 minutes on something they say "will change space exploration forever". Oh please let it be we found another Earth. Oh please! Oh please! I'm packing my bags, just in case.

Edit: Meh. Yet another planet that may, or may not be Earth 2. The star is a G star like ours, a bit bigger, the planet is also a bit bigger and has a year of about 382 days. Most likely rocky with higher mass so we would weigh about twice as much as on Earth. The good news being, Earthlike planets are likely very common in this galaxy. NASA... call me when I cane move off THIS rock.

I will make sure to take that advice in mind.

That's amazing that we're finding another planet that might be habitable. But it's too bad we can't even really take a good look at it to see if there are any ETs waving back at us. If there really are aliens out there, I hope we discover them in our life times.

Witchy, you are inspirational. I need to look for work and haven't done it in so many years that I feel completely at sea about it.

Not happy today I'm sorry to say. I just found out that Rowdy Roddy Piper died today. He was 61. ESPN is saying it was his heart, but that is the old stand by excuse when a pro wrestler dies these days. The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes died a few weeks ago and now Roddy Piper. Very sad. In the 1970s and into the 1980s I enjoyed watching 'rastlin. It was soap opera for men. I got to meet quite a few back in the days they would come to Atlanta to wrestle.

I worked out at the same gym many used and got to know about the inside and behind the scenes of the business. I always knew it wasn't a real sporting competition, but I never realized how much these guys put out, for such a small reward. Most don't make it to the big time, and even those who did often paid a price in terms of health and longevity.

I seldom watch the new stuff today, but I have a pretty good collection of dvds from the glory days of the 70s in places like Memphis and Little Rock, Jackson and Atlanta. Back then it was fun and you could suspend belief for a few hours and just enjoy the show.
