Bloody curtain

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

Bloody curtain

Post by whatsername90 » Sun Oct 02, 2011 1:17 pm

Thinking of making a bloody handprint curtain for my bathroom. Should be able to get the supplies at the dollar store... Need to get some spiderweb too... Ahh I love October

That sounds totally awesome! I love the idea!

I did this 3 years ago and if I can offer some advice...blood doesn't work. You'll need to use actual paint. Our Dollar Tree sold acrylic paint at the time so we used 1 bottle of the "Apple Red" acrylic paint. If your Dollar Tree doesn't carry it, any WalMart will. Since the blood is washable, it runs right off the plastic liner I used. Didn't even phase it at all. The paint worked like a charm though.

I would also suggest buying a cheap white towel from WalMart (usually a dollar or two) to wipe your hands with. Put a couple extra drips of paint on the towel and replace the hand towel in your bathroom with the "blood stained" hand towel. Just for that extra touch.

One of the funnest and easiest projects I've done! Good luck!!!

I actually did put a body in my tub and worked well. I would encourage anyone else to do the same! I bundled up towels to stuff the body, placed a wig at the top and shoes at the bottom. Covered it mostly with a bloody white fabric (made at the same time as my curtain) and placed a small strobe in the tub. The curtain was pulled back about 18" and the strobe got peoples attention to take a peek.

True story...one party goer decided to lay ontop of the dead body and waited for someone to come use the bathroom. They most certainly received a scare. Lol!

That's so funny  I would have loved to have seen that person's reaction. I would probably still be laughing!

Thank God they're already on the john when that happens! :o

As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...
