Poor you.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

I'm working on designing my invitations. Every year I make different invitations based on the party theme using scrapbooking supplies. I'm tea staining some hand made paper and burning the edges, but they don't want to burn. Even after they've dried thoroughly, they just smolder along the edges which isn't quite the effect I'm after. :( Just gotta keep at it.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

I love Department 56 as well. Which ones did you pick up, Hallowed?

If I ever get them to do what I want. The ink I'm using bleeds too much on the hand made paper, so I'll probably have to go with a more traditional parchment. But when I get them done, one way or the other, I'll post a pic. :)

I also have a Department 56 village. There are cheaper villages but they don't seem to be of the same quality. it's a big hit with all the sounds and lights. I had pics posted here somewhere but now can't find them. I'll post new pics once it's all assembled a little closer to Halloween so our friends and family don't think we're any weirder than they already do.

I embrace my weirdness...but some must be kept a secret...otherwise people would have to disappear...

On the plus side I think I remembered where my photos of my village are and will try to post them tomorrow!

As promised here are shots of my Department 56 village. I somehow forgot to get the right half photographed well. I will take better shots this year and share them with you but here are the ones from last year.

Thanks though that's not a church it's an old style schoolhouse if you look closely you can see the teacher leading the students in front. However a church would be cool for sure. As I said I'll get better pics this year.
