He probably likes his flexible schedule, but I think if I were in that man's shoes, I would try to get hired by one of those companies that cleans houses. Or maybe a landscaping company. I should think you would be able to work steadily, at least. He would have to treat his art more as an avocation, but it sounds like he isn't making ends meet with it, anyway.

Chang, he sounds like the kind of a guy who's pride in his work goes beyond his paycheck. I do wish him well, though.

Murf, that's probably what I would do, too. Even with a steady 40 hours a week, or even with Overtime, for that matter, he would still have a pretty hard time making ends meat.

He say he can change the oil in old truck while he paints art pictures. :?

This guy has one main problem and it that he is lazy and refuse to work for somebody else. He does need to get a spring job because he can mow yards, pick up dog <deleted>, and fix old trucks.

Chang, I would like to be in business for myself, too. Many people would prefer self employment to working for someone else. That's what "Studio O'Brien Photography" is all about. I am hoping to use that to suppliment my pension when I retire from my regular job. I certainly would never quit my regular job, however to promote a business that right now has not taken off yet. Studio O'Brien Photography isn't exactly a 'Fortune 500' company yet. On the other hand, if it was highly successful, I might consider it, but for now, that's out of the question. Most likely, the photography business will be a suppliment for my pension.

Maybe he don't care about being in poverty. I learn to do whatever necessary to stay earning good incomes.

That's a good point, Chang. For some people, money isn't everything to them. I personaly can't stand the whole idea of ending up the way I was when I was in college and shortly after I graduated. Part time minimum wage jobs, which barely covered the cost of my gasoline. That's not the way I want to live, but I guess to each his own.

Those are some seriously bad wedding photos. I hope their friends and relatives snapped some informal pictures. They are bound to have been better than the "professional" ones.

HOLY MACKEREL!! They should demand a refund. Thos look like some 6-year-old did it with one of those Mickey-Mouse instimatic cameras that Toys R Us use to sell back in the late 60s. Those photos were poorly composed, out of focus, and just plain unprofessional, terible photos.

And they paid 1200 bucks???? I do feel bad for them. Just what was this guy thinking about? Was he thinking at all?? Or was he drunk?

Well, I just got fired this morning. I had this job for two weeks shy of 16 years. We had lost some business so it is not a total surprise, but I am still in shock.

I'm so sorry, Bogeyman. I lost a job once when I shouldn't have. There is no way to describe that psychic shock to anyone who hasn't been there. I became physically ill.

What field are you in?

Wow, medical billing is one field where you'd think the work would be pretty steady, regardless of the overall economy.

I hope you are able to find something else quickly. Perhaps a temp position, as Witchy suggests.
