Happy 70th Birthday Martha Stewart
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Re: Happy 70th Birthday Martha Stewart
I actually haven't bought any Martha Stewart magazines, but I have bought many other Halloween-themed magazines over the years, and I do sometimes notice repetitions. Sometimes I am glad of that--maybe I've lost the original issue, etc. I cut them some slack, because, really, how many different pumpkin displays can there be, or how many different harvest stews, etc. How many different ways can you paint a child's face? After years and years of this stuff, about all you can hope for is a tweak on an old idea. If 70% of the content in her recent magazine was recycled, though, I'd say she ought to have issued it as a "best of Martha Stewart Halloween."

Though I have never seen her TV show, I know her mainly through her business acumen. Glad all of prison stuff is behind her and she has made a comeback.
Her Halloween ideas are quite good.
However, I do enjoy doing her as one of my costume characters. I am a year and a half younger than Martha.

I think that's a great costume! But then, all of your costumes are fantastic!
I sometimes get a little peeved that people who commit crimes with money are punished so swiftly, whereas people who commit crimes of violence against others too often seem to find their way back onto the street. Also, now it seems that too many of our Congressmen are doing pretty much the same thing Martha Stewart did, with impunity.
As for MS herself, I am neutral. I don't watch her shows or buy her magazines. Her ideas seem a little too elaborate for me.

My favorite Martha outfits:

Here are my overall costume outfits for Martha - all from thrift stores! Except the apron. Got that from her website.

I have read books about her, have never seen her TV show, never bought her mags, never bought her Halloween issues, occasionally bought her products, but other than that I thoroughly enjoy her as a costume character.

She's a great costume character!
I don't have enough imagination about popular culture. Other people can come up with these terrific ideas, but whenever I think about a Halloween costume, I always fall back on the old standards, like witch, ghost, vampire, etc.
