Re: What cars do you drive?
I keep to the speed limit for the most part. I used to drive a little faster when I was younger. Nowhere near 147 mph, though!

Re: What cars do you drive?
When I 'm in the Merc, I usualy set the cruise control about 70, or what ever is about 5 miles over the posted speed limit. That depents, however on driving conditions and the like. However, when I'm on the bike, I tend to speed a little more. I had my Valk up to 140 once, and I had my Harley up to 120.
iHaunt, an Astin Martin only costs a mere $400,000 plus sales tax, depdnding on what state you live in. I'm sure the import taxes and dock fees are pretty reasonable, too. A mers $20,000 or $30,000. I'm pretty sure you should be able to keep it under half a million dollars if you can find a good deal.
Perhaps you should buy two or three.

I find that a bit hard to believe. 463 mph is a airplane speed, and I don't think it would be humanly possible to control a vahicle at sucfh a speed on the ground.

Hey Mike, current land speed record is 763.035 mph, over 1 mile. Supersonic! Put wings on that sucker and you could drive to England.

I had a feeling it was around the 700mph mark, I didn't realise they had broken it! That's awesome!

Fastest street car goes about 260 mph and is called Buggati veyron but it is a million bucks to buy it. It has 16 cylinder engine and a thousand horsepowers. Anyfaster and you need jet engines.

Re: What cars do you drive?
Basicaly, the car that set that land speed record of over 700 mph was powered by jet aircraft engines, and there's no way a thing like that could ever be practicle for "Joe & Jill Six Pack" to drive to and from work. The car in that web article that can do 465 would also be highly imporacicle, both because of the cost and the speed. Most people just couldn't handle a vehicle at that speed, not to mention the roads, and the traffic.
The only way vehicles that fast could ever work is if 1, they were a lot more affordable to working class people like me and many others here, and they would also have to be controlled by some sort of a computer system, as our reactions just wouldn't be fast enough.
