This is still one of the best horror movies that builds up and really messes with your religious sensibility and the whole 'Good' vs 'Evil' inside us all. A little girl who is all sweet and innocent can become possessed by such evil is a really unsettling concept. The fact that it is based on a true story of a little boy back in the 40's I believe makes it even more surreal and weighs even more on your soul...

They said after that movie there was a HUGE spike in church attendance and conversions to catholisicm...also the claims of possesion and dark spirits...

I first saw this movie as a young teenager and it etched itself in my psyche...made me curious about the occult and things of that nature and I have learned to give somethings a wide berth...Ouija Boards are one of them...

They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well

Oddly enough, I've never been very religious to begin with, but after I saw that movie is when I stopped wearing my cross. I think it had something to do with, ahem, what it did with the crucifix it found.

I remember watching it & being pretty disturbed by it. I bought it on DVD a few years ago now to re-watch it. I still haven't gotten around to giving it another watch & the DVD to this day remains sealed, sat on my DVD shelf...

Oh wow, that movie scares me to this day. It totally creeps me out!
