Guess what?? I got an extra large pumpkin tonight, but I will not carve it till Monday. I will put candle inside it on Monday night till it will turn rot. So no worries.... I will get 2 or 3 more pumpkins in October.

I LOVE the big pumpkins! I'm thinking about making a big jack-o-lantern out of papier mache this year just to have some variety in my pumpkin patch. Not sure where I will store the beast when Halloween is over though...

Yeah I found some tealights that burn 9 hours. I love those.
I like the traditional candlelight.

Where did you buy them? I'm just thinking for Morticia, being that you're Stateside of "the pond." Although (ASDA) Walmart sell them over here like I said, so maybe the Walmart's over there will sell them?

The traditional candlelight is awesome though!

Has anyone ever found a red pumpkin light? I have a small pumpkin with a vampire on it and I think it would look best with a red light. I've yet to find one though and I really hate the idea of having to make one--I've already got too many projects as it is.

The frosting should help diffuse the light. You could probably pick this type of light up in a store that's already carrying products for that holiday whose name I shall not say.

Jack where are you getting these? I've found ones that burn for 6 and they were quite expensive, but I've never seen any that burn 9?

He might be thinking of votive candles. The ones I have seem to burn about that long if not longer. I picked up a 9 pack of them at Big Lots for $5. The ginger pumpkins ones. They smell like pumpkin pie. In fact, they smell so good, I may just try eating one.

To add to the topic, I saw an article in one of this year's magazines where they use fishing line to hang the jacko under their porch roof. This makes a candle lit jack-o-lantern look like it's floating in mid-air on the darkened porch.

Even further, I think it would be a cool idea to put candy in the floating pumpkins and let the kids with the best costumes take a swing at it, piñata style. Of course, there would be a bit of a mess to clean up later.

Put razor blades in the remaining pumpkins for the inevitable hooligans that will come around later.

Man if you let the little ones use one of your pumpkins as a pinata, you would be finding bits of pumpkin for a month!

Good call on the razor blades for the hooligans. One year, some punks threw a pumpkin through my friends windshield. Then it rained that night. A very, very rude awakening as you can imagine. This is another reason I have stopped using the real pumpkins. I still keep a very close eye on my artificial darlings though...
