That is a good question. I'd love to hear some suggestions too.

There is a Blu-Ray yule log DVD that includes a castle fireplace complete with iron dragons that would look pretty cool.

Failing that, you could find some DVDs of really old horror movies. I have a collection (maybe I got it at WalMart one year?) that includes Nosferatu and lots of 1950s things. You could just let this stuff play with the sound turned down or off. The old Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera is available, too. I have had that on VHS. Most people know these movies well enough that they don't have to sit down and watch. They would just give some creepy images flickering in the background.

I couldn't find any ambient Halloween dvds, but you could always make a slide show and loop it not as cool, but it would be something.

I just saw a bunch of Halloween scenery DVDs at the Dollar Tree. There were maybe 4 or 5 types sitting right by the checkout.

at our party we just showed movies like Dracula or Frankenstein, both 1930's versions, the guests loved it, they could go chill at the TV when they got tired of the music or "Halloween" lights in the rest of the house

I think that's a great idea. Those 1930s horror movies, in black & white--they aren't really scary nowadays, yet they seem classic for Halloween. I also love the silent film of Phantom of the Opera, with Lon Cheney. Talk about horrific images! And Nosferatu is just about its equal for horrific visuals.

In the past, I've just hooked a computer up to the tv and played different Halloween Screensavers. Everyone seems to like it.
