Dead Set (2008 British Zombie Show)
This is an amazing little 5 part series shown on Channel 4 in 2008, I only watched it today but I found myself attached straight away and ended up watching all five episodes, about two and a half hours worth of gory fast-zombie carnage. Fast zombies, you may say? No! They're not zombies, ah, but they are! The infection is spread through bites, the bites kill the victim and then the victim reanimates into a sprinting, biting, death-bringing organism.
The premise is that the reality show Big Brother is nearing the end of its season, but at the same time a zombie outbreak has spread across Britain, a lone infected individual stumbles into the crowd outside the Big Brother house and spreads the zombie plague. Soon enough zombies have overrun the Big Brother studio and the housemates are oblivious to the danger looming just behind the mirrors.
The story turns into 3 seperate stories, involving characters featured earlier in the episodes. The main story features Kelly, a runner for the show's producer who is one of the only survivors left in the studio and she breaks into the Big Brother house in a desperate bid to survive with the housemates. The second story features Kelly's boyfriend, Riq, who was stranded at a train station after his car was stolen. Riq is attempting to get back to the Big Brother house and reunite with Kelly, along the way he runs into Alex, a gun-toting survivor who's been through hell. The third story, is about Patrick and Pippa, the show's @$$ of a producer and evicted housemate, respectively, both of them hate eachother and they are stuck in a room whilst a zombified version of Davina McCall stalks the corridors outside.
The action is plentyful, the gore is impressive and very well done, the profanity is frequent and very strong, some words I didn't think they were allowed to say on TV! The characters are all different and three-dimensional, and the writing is excellent. Dead Set is one of the very best British TV shows I have ever seen, and one of the best zombie features too!
Feel free to discuss and/or ask any questions related to the show, you can watch it for free on Channel 4's website, and since it's on the official website it is completely legal!

It is, it reminded me of 28 Days Later for sure, almost like a prequel of sorts. It is an amazing little series, though, so enjoy it!

I remember watching this when it first aired. It was my wife who told me about it just before it started, so I thought i'll sit down with her & watch it. I didn't think I was going to like it, but I actually quite enjoyed it.
I own both 28 Days & Weeks later, but i'm not a big fan of them. I like some zombie related material, but not all of it.

Just as vampires don't sparkle, zombies don't run.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.
