I did enjoy 'In Bruges'.

Colin Farrell is going to be played as Jerry Dandrige in this remake. He wouldn't have been my first choice for the role. :?

In Bruges is one of my all time favorite movies. Colin Farrell was also pretty good in a movie called Intermission, with Cillian Murphy from 28 Days Later and Kelly MacDonald from Trainspotting. I'm thinking that maybe his @sshole reputation has obscured his talent a bit. Or maybe he's chosen some crummy roles. But I thought he was good in the things I've seen him in, and I think he'll do a good Jerry Dandrige.

The scene where his partner in crime jumps from the tower was so realistic it was a little upsetting.

The fat American tourist bit however, evened it all out

I know what you mean, especially since I'll always have a soft place in my heart for Brendan Gleason, the actor who plays him, who was also Hamish in Braveheart, Frank in 28 Days Later, and Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter flicks. I hated to see him splattered all over the pavement. :(

Frank!...that's where I know him from.

Yup, the landing on the pavement was almost too real.

So, anyone will get excited seeing this FN remake? I don't think so I would be happy to see it in theater.... I would have to wait until it comes straight to DVD. ;) Too many remakes are sucked! :?

I absolutely love Fright Night. I really hope they can do a half decent job like the Amityville remake.

Has anyone seen this yet? Any advanced showings? Anyone going tomorrow to see it?

I have to admit I am not a huge Collin Ferrell fan but I am happy to see a different take on the Vampire besides the Twilight type...need some good old fashioned fangs and gore :P

.
Meh.

Saw it this morning and was totally disappointed. The original was far superior in my opinion. Granted... I went into it thinking it was a remake. It's not. Only things it has in common with the original were the character's names and the title of the movie. Oh, and there's a vampire in it.

If you never saw the original it may be worth paying to see it at a theater. For me, it was just too hard not to compare it. If you really want to go, forget everything about the first one. There are some nods to it though... the nightclub scene & Amy's dress come to mind. Some of the 3D effects were really cool, especially when a vamp got dusted. And since I'm currently watching season two of Dr Who it was really neat to see David Tennant in a different type of role.

Oh yeah... I saw the trailers for 'The Thing' and 'Underworld: Awakening' before the movie. What's this, the second remake of The Thing? I think I'll pass. Good news is Selene is back in Underworld. Nuff said!
