Why don't TV stations show the Poltergeist films on TV anymore?... or do they just not show them when I'm watching?
Those films scared the socks off me when I was a little tyke. They had everything... scary clowns, crawling meat... "orbs"... burial grounds, even! Whatever happened to films like that?
Seems like we got caught up with a lot of the modern "gore" films like SAW (and SAW MCXXVIII)... and focus on some of the "classics" (Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, etc).
It seems to me like no one shows older films like Poltergeist anymore. Man, were those movies scary!

I watched it last week on one of the many Encore channels

I had no idea.... I do love Poltergeist. Part 2 is ok, and part 3 is no good.
