Your Interpretation of Halloween

Post by TheHallow1 » Sat Oct 16, 2010 8:46 pm

As fellow enthusiasts of this legendary holiday, most of you should know what Halloween used to mean to the Ancient Pagan Celtics who are responsible for the holiday in the first place. To them, it was a night of putting on masks to blend in with/ward off evil spirits and other creatures for they believed that on Samhain (the Celtic holiday that became Halloween), the barrier between the living and the dead ceased to exist.

In today's society, the meaning of the holiday has obviously changed, but to what? The purpose of the holiday seems to be open to anybody's interpretation. To me, Halloween is the celebration of the Supernatural, Fear, overcoming our fears, and, indescribably, so much more. So what's your interpretation of Halloween?

Great fun, good food and scaring little kids until they pee a little! Ahhh. That is what Halloween is all about.

I like everything about it...there's too much for me to put into a few sentences or a paragraph...I love it all and love Halloween.
They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well
