time for flying insects to freeze their annoying little biters off
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

Here are a few more pix of the maple trees from last weekend.

They should be flat-out golden by the 31st.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!! Depends on how much you love them.

Just beyond the stand if firs way in the back of the sloping hillside photo, there is an old logging road that drops straight down about 150 feet into a ravine filled with brambles.

On the other side of the house there is a stagnant pond with sheer banks that only drop about 2 stories, with nothing to grab onto to pull yourself up. They could swim to the opposite shore and hike up through the poison oak, however.

I have only read reports of mountain lions, and never saw one except the tail of one skee-dadling off the road on my way to work.

I kick puppies for fun (j/k)

when I walk down a street in the fall I like to hear and feel the crunch of dried leaves.

Ray Bradbury referred to them in Something Wicked This Way Comes as, leaf papery whispers.

Mid-October and the leaves still aren't fully changed :? I guess Halloween will be that much more pretty.
